Taking Charge Blog Tour {Top 10 with Mandy Baggot}

Today I have Author Mandy Baggot on the blog today for her Top10. I recently reviewed her book Taking Charge and fell head over heels in love with it. I look forward to reading more from Mandy.

Mandy Baggot is a self-confessed Twitter addict who likes to sing on You Tube. She regularly guests on book blogs and is a featured author on the innovative website loveahappyending.com. Taking Charge is her fifth novel. Mandy lives near Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK with her husband and two daughters.

1. fav movie/actor/actress?
My favorite movie is definitely Die Hard! It’s one of those movies you can watch over and over and still enjoy it as much as the first time. We have a tradition in my house and we watch it every Christmas Eve! Favorite actor is Nicolas Cage, he can turn his hand to anything and makes every character he plays so believable. He also looks a bit like my husband!

2. fav song/singer?
I like so many types of music I couldn’t possible choose a favorite. I like rock, dance, country – probably the only type of music I don’t like is classical. I love Bryan Adams and have seen him in concert loads of times and I also love Train and Lady Gaga!

3. fav place you would love to visit?
I have a favorite little Greek fishing village in Corfu I like to visit and that is my one place I yearn for when I need a holiday - and I’m going back soon! As for new places I wish I could visit - hmm, I think I need to come back to America and do a bookstore tour don’t you?

4. one item you can not live with out?
Just one?! At the moment it would be my Kindle I think!

5. who would you like to meet?(dead or alive)
Ooo that’s a toughie! There are quite a few people I would like to meet! Let’s go for Stephen Spielberg – ‘hey Stephen, I know this great book that would make an awesome film’!!

6. fictional character you would like to spend the day with?
Obviously this has to be John McClane from Die Hard – I think we’d get into all sorts of trouble in tall buildings wearing dirty vests!

7. guilty pleasure?
Diagnosis Murder – seen them over and over but it’s television gold.

8. fav author and/book?
I don’t actually have a favorite author. I love to read the genre I write, contemporary romance, but I do like a good thriller or mystery too and if it has romance in it too that’s perfect. I’ve been reading lots of self-published authors in the group I belong to Loveahappending http://loveahappyending.com/ and I’ve really enjoyed reading other genres and seeing what great stories are out there. I’ll also be reading all the novels from the Sapphire Star Publishing stable too!

9. do you collect anything?
Memories! I love to travel and going to different places with my family having new experiences and creating times to remember means more to me than ‘things’.

10. pet peeve?
Two-faced people – you know those people who say one thing to your face and another behind your back. I like honesty, even if it hurts sometimes! Give it to me straight!

Oh I most definitely believe you should head on over to the US for a book tour. Memphis would be a great place to start ;)

Is going back Robyn’s only way forward?

American-born Robyn Matthers is going home. With her dad in hospital, his roadhouse in ruins and the ice hockey team slipping down the league, she needs to take charge. But does she have the strength to do it?

Cole Ryan is a hockey player on a personal mission. He’s tall, dark, hot and Robyn’s noticed! But can she trust her feelings - or his? And what will Cole do when he finds out the truth about her?

Robyn returns to Michigan and things aren’t quite the same. Her best friend has grown up and is thinking about marriage and babies, the ice hockey team is no longer the life blood of the community and her father is engaged!

When Robyn’s twin cousins drag up past events that hold painful memories for her, she and Cole are forced together. But are either of them ready to start something new?

With an ill father, a trailer trash almost step-mom and ex-boyfriend Brad desperate for another chance, does Robyn have time to contemplate a relationship? Does she really want one? And is it physically possible for two people to fall in love in just three days?

Genre – contemporary romance
