Chasing River - Cover
Armed with two years' worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin.  Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn't let her die, but he also couldn’t risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family’s pub.  Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him.  And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.

Maybe it's because he saved her life, or maybe it's because he's completely different from everything she's left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn’t the kind of girl to chase after anyone.

And River isn't the kind of guy she'd want to catch.

As with everything I have read by Tucker, this book was so unbelievably good. I think a lot of it happened to be because it was taking place in another country giving it a different vibe than the other books in the series. Same wonderful writing, just a different atmosphere to enjoy and learn about. I didn't realize a lot of what went on over there until this read. Tucker did a fabulous job conveying it to the readers and enlightening those of us who are clueless of it all.

Another reason I believe I enjoyed it so much is because we are not so focused on Jesse and Luke's problems back home any longer. Oh no, Amber has found her own set a trouble to deal with and she is in it pretty deep. This family is obviously a magnet to the worst kind of trouble. But that is ok by me since it makes for one hell of a fantastic read. I say bring it on!

I was quite fond of the romance that sparked quickly between River and Amber. They have a connection in more ways than one. Especially after he saves her from being blown to bits at the very beginning of the story. And even though it seems like he kept saving her from certain troubles, I noticed that she also was saving him. He just didn't realize it until the end of the story.

Once again, I love the secondary characters that added so much to yet another book in the series. I cannot wait to see what Ivy's story is all about next in SURVIVING ICE. I also adored Rowen so much. He brings the fun where River always seems to be the serious one. Together it was a great balance to the brothers and the story.

I just loved this book and was sad to see it end, but I was very pleased with how Tucker brought it to a close. I really, really hope that this won’t be the last we hear from River and Amber. Brilliant story! 5 Stars!

  4. I would love to travel to France. My mom lived there as a kid when my Grandpa was stationed there for the airforce and I've always wanted to learn the language and travel to a different country.
