Goodreads...

He stole my heart out of revenge.

There was one thing I always thought was mine to give: my heart.

I never imagined a marauder would steal it out of vengeance—vengeance that had nothing to do with me. His greatest enemy happened to be the man in love with me, and somehow I became nothing but a pawn. I was no damsel in distress, though. More like an archer, ready to battle.

And my target? The marauder himself.

Cashel “Cash” Kelly.

Kelly might have been as gorgeous as he was ruthless, but he had no idea what I’d do to steal it back. Or better yet, get even.

She was determined to keep what was mine.

They say hearts can’t be stolen unless they’re willing to be. Tell that to the man everyone on the streets called “the marauder.”

Me.

Because by the time I was through, Keely Ryan’s heart would be mine. And my enemy’s? As good as broken. Trouble was, the archer was precise with her aim, and her arrow was pointed at my heart.

Marauder is the second of three books set in the savage world of the Gangsters of New York series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but they are all based in the same world.

My Take...

I love me some Cash Kelly. Though not as much as Capo, Cash definitely comes in close behind. Like a smidge behind. (I look forward to see if Corrado holds any place in my heart once we get his story.) But back to Cash. He believes he doesn’t have a heart and he always takes what he wants, however he wants. When he sets his sights on Keely, Mari’s best friend, he doesn’t seem to realize what he is getting himself into when it comes to the feisty red head.

The story was done so amazingly. I absolutely loved how Di Corte went back through MACHIAVELLIAN and lined it up for how Keely lived it. I wanted to grab MACHIAVELLIAN and read again, in case I missed something important. Even as we got to the end, and things were iffy, I had to think back to that book and if it shared how things end up for Keely and Cash. I couldn’t remember and it tore at me. Because holy crap that ending!! Surely I would have remembered that!!

Utterly brilliant. Absolute perfection. Wickedly beautiful. This book devoured my heart. I had to tell myself many times at the start that this is not Capo. But I was pleasantly surprised with how well Cash held his own and absolutely owned his story. He is a force, that’s for sure.

Di Corte has a fan for life. Now if November would hurry and get her so we can see who this Corrado character is. Waiting is going to be torture! 5 Stars!
