Richelle Mead's new series....Bloodlines

*click on pic to head on over to the Bloodlines'goodreads

Richelle Mead brings the series Vampire Academy to a close. Well sort of. She is starting a spin-off series based on characters from Vampire Academy called Bloodlines.

excerpt from goodreads.com:
Last Sacrifice will be the last book about Rose, but it'll be followed by a spin-off series still set in the Vampire Academy world. Side characters we know from the current series will now be our main characters, and there'll be a whole new storyline (not the last one told from a different perspective). So far, there is no exact release date, but you can expect it near late summer/early fall of 2011.
At the moment, I'm not allowed to reveal the title, premise, or full cast of characters. I can tell you that it'll be written in third person, so we'll get a number of characters' perspectives. One of them will be Sydney. The others are a secret for now. Also, expect a cameo from Rose

Now there is an article from Entertainment Weekly (print, not internet) that says this....

Richelle Mead on Her New Series, Bloodlines
Richelle Mead is finally graduating from Vampire Academy. The sixth and final book in her popular series hit stores on Dec. 7, and she's already working on her next project, Bloodlines. We spoke with Mead about the series (due out next August).
Will Bloodlines be related to Vampire Academy?
We're still in the same universe, the same rules, all of that. But characters who were in a peripheral role are now our leads. The narrator is Sydney, a human. She's an alchemist. Jill, a Moroi vampire, also has a key role. The male lead is going to be a big surprise. I'll only say that it's one of the love interests from Vampire Academy.
Where will the story be set?
In the human world, in a human high school. Before, we were enclosed in a vampire universe. But now our protagonists are playing by human rules and trying to blend in. It puts a whole new perspective on it. And the high school is in California. Bright and sunny, which is problematic for vampires.
As an alchemist, does Sydney get good grades in chemistry?
She's actually in AP Chemistry. And she's really bored.

I can handle that!!!
