Top 10 with Author Eisley Jacobs

I want to introduce Eisley Jacobs today for the Top 10. She is the author of Born to be a Dragon and just released, Blink of a Dragon.
1. fav song/singer?
RED is my favorite band of all times. Their song PIECES is completely over the top emotionally charged. When I need to get the emotions flowing, PIECES is first, then HYMN FOR THE MISSING followed by all of their other songs. They are a great energetic band I hope to see in concert some day.

2. fav season?
Favorite season is Spring. The snow is melting, the flowers are blooming and we are finally freed from the captivity of our four walls.

3. worst vacation?
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad vacation. The children and I travel to California every summer and we’ve never broken down or gotten a flat tire. Maybe I should knock on wood now.

4. guilty pleasure?
Chocolate and a good book. If I have both, I can lose myself for hours and not care about a darn thing. My dream vacation would be alone in a cabin in the wood with chocolate, coffee, no internet to distract me and a few good books.

5. fav book and/or author?
My favorite author is C.S. Lewis. I aspire to write like him. He could capture the hearts of the children in just a few short pages and not release them until the end of the book. I love the Chronicles of Narnia and I usually read them through once a year (if not more). I just love the world he’s created and the adventure between the cover.

6. one item you cannot live without?
My earphones. I’m a stay at home, homeschooling mom and sometimes I just need a break. My headphones allow me that break. And the kids are old enough now (Ages 12, 10 an 8) that they know that unless you are bleeding or there is danger of loss of life or limb, if my headphones are in DON’T BOTHER ME!

7. hobby?
I used to have many of hobbies. Now the characters in my head fight with the free time I have. Though, I do take time to draw for inspiration… usually things relating to my novels. I also really enjoy traveling, though books come into play during those times too. I eagerly look forward to listening to audio books during my 12-14hours drives. The last audio book I listened to was The Little Princess. I’ve read it many times, but again, I love losing myself inside a story!

8. fav movie/actor/actress?
I love Drew Barrymore and Zooey Deschanel. Both furiously cute and talented. And boy can that Zooey sing. My favorite Christmas song of all times is “Baby it’s cold outside” sung by Zooey from the soundtrack to ELF. I’m not sure if Drew can sing… but I bet if she tried I’d like it just as well.

9. fav food?
Asian food of any kind… well except for eel. Eel looks like flubber. Blech. Just Blech.

10. who would you like to meet? (dead or alive?)
Probably C.S. Lewis. Mostly because his works planted the seed of fantasy/adventure in my soul and spurred me to create stories that children might love just as much (if I’m lucky).

I love love love that song off Elf! I got the soundtrack just for that song :) And ewww, eel? Yeah gonna have to say nay to that one. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by and answer my Top 10!
