Top 10 with Author Jessie Lane

Today we have author Jessie Lane on the blog. What's so special about her? Well she is two people posing as one.
‘Jessie Lane’ is actually the writing team of Crystal Leo and Melissa Pahl. Instead of playing rock, paper, scissors or having a wrestling smack down over what our name should be we both chose some of our favorite female fictional characters and wrote one long list. In the end we both agreed on ‘Jessie Lane’. ‘Jessie’, is Melissa’s favorite female lead character in the movie, Queen of The Damned, and ‘Lane’ after Crystal’s favorite female lead character from Karen Marie Moning’s ‘Fever Series’ with MacKayla ‘Mac’ Lane.
1. fav movie/actor/actress?
Melissa: Denzel Washington in Man On Fire
Crystal: *blushes because she just saw Magic Mike with Melissa at the theater – then checks over her shoulder to see if her husband caught her thinking about Joe Manganiello* Actually I’m going to say favorite movie is a tie between The Chronicles of Riddick and Underworld.
2. fav song/singer?
Melissa: *frets because she can only choose one?* Sweet Melissa by the Allman Brothers or The Wall by Pink Floyd
Crystal: Favorite song – All American Nightmare by Hinder. Favorite Singer – Taylor Swift because no matter what she comes up with I usually love it and my girls do too.
3. fav place you would love to visit?
Melissa: Any place in Italy.
Crystal: Ireland! First stop by the pubs and then take my kids the next day to investigate fairy mounds and castles!
4. one item you can not live with out?
Melissa: Sweet tea
Crystal: Her e-reader!
5. who would you like to meet?(dead or alive)
Melissa: Does Channing Tatum count? (fans herself) No actually, Maya Angelo because she’s an amazing writer and woman.
Crystal: When you say dead you don’t mean like ‘come back to life to eat your brains zombie dead’ do you? Because that would be bad. But if you mean like you’re giving me a time machine to go back to speak to them kind of dead then I would say C.S. Lewis because he wrote one of the most amazing series of all time.
6. fav hobby?
Melissa: Photography. I love to take pictures of everything around me.
Crystal: Reading. Seriously people, my e-reader is glued to me.
7. guilty pleasure?
Melissa: Music. Definitely listening to all kinds of music.
Crystal:  Ummm, if it’s ‘guilty’ then it’s chocolate cake. And that’s ‘guilty’ because I am not supposed to eat it. *sigh* Why do we have to be healthy again?
8. fav author and/book?
Melissa: I have series that I love. The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. They have all forms of fey and paranormal so I love it!
Crystal: Favorite Author – Karen Marie Moning (seriously people she’s awesome!). Favorite Book – Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost (Cat & Bones are too funny!)
9. do you collect anything?
Melissa & Crystal: Books, books… oh and more books!
10. fav color?
Melissa: BLUE – all the way baby!
Crystal: It’s a toss up between hot pink, purple and cobalt blue. I love all three equally.
Jessie Lane is the writing team of Crystal Leo and Melissa Pahl. The two sister-in-laws share a great love of breath-taking romance, cliff hanging suspense, and out-of-this-world characters that demand your attention or threaten to slap you around until you do pay attention to them. Because really, it is ALL about the characters.
When not loosing themselves in a story they remember they have real lives. Crystal lives in Kentucky with her husband and two little girls who plot daily the many ways they can drive their poor mother crazy. At the end of the day Crystal then calls Melissa and threatens to ship her two nieces to their favorite Aunt with lots of air holes punched through their box. Melissa answers Crystal’s crazed calls in Washington state where she lives with her husband and big furry baby of a Rottweiler named Yuffie and reminds her that children are not shippable.
This is their first novel but they are all geared up and excited to be releasing other projects soon!
