Virginity.
Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from
college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends,
she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and
simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything
but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her
bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if
that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last
college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She'd left him
naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.
My take...
I never, hardly ever, go to an author
asking to review their book…I just feel silly asking. But when I saw SupaGurl’s
facebook profile pic (which was the cover of Losing It) I had to go see what
this book was about. And when I read the goodreads’ summary I knew I had to
read it. So I set out seeking the author and asked if I could review Losing It.
Sadly I was turned down and chairs may have been thrown about. (Not really.)
But then, like a ray of sunshine, Cora emailed me asking me to be a part of her
book tour. I am sure that was just her way of seeking forgiveness for turning
me down in the first place (And again…not really.) :)
I am just going to tell it like it is…this
book rocked my socks right off. I was so glad to read a book that was good (not
depressing) and light hearted (not depressing) and very romantic (not
depressing). If you haven’t noticed, my last read was so very depressing. So
thank you Cora for giving us a wonderful read in Losing It. And it’s a quick
read too. I could not believe how engrossed I was until I looked down at the
page number and I was halfway through the book.
Long story short, I got to read Losing It
and I fell in love. Like lots in love. I just adored Bliss and was kind of proud
of her for hanging on to her V card for so long. Some of us haven’t been as
lucky. So to her I say hurrah! And what about Mr. Garrick Taylor? Ummhmm, I
loved him from the get go. I mean that guy was yummy from the beginning and got
even more irresistible as time went on. But will the whole relationship fall
apart before it even gets a chance to start?
Witty story line, romance that makes you
weak in the knees, and a couple characters you just want to hug and slap at the
same time. Losing It is the perfect read for those seeking out a great romantic
story. As I told Cora when I finished the book…I want to reread it again. I
look forward to more of her work in the future and cannot wait to hear what you
think.

Great review. I am looking forward to reading this.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book. Can't wait to read!
ReplyDeleteMy most awkward dating story was when I was about 16. He brought his friend with him and his friend kept flirting with me and at one point tried to tickle me. My boyfriend intercepted(thank god!). It wasn't only awkward but uncomfortable and not to mention rude to his friend!
ReplyDeleteI went to the movies with this guy who I kind of liked but didn't know too well. At the tiny theater in town we went to see Snow Day. He kept asking me what was going on because he was having trouble following along! We were 18!
