MOGUL Blog Tour {Top 10 & Give@ways}

Ginger Voight is prolific author, freelance writer and optioned screenwriter. Her fiction is diverse, with novels like the edgy, coming-of-age drama DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS, and the fun family adventure for kids of all ages, COMIC SQUAD.

Having grown up reading different authors like Danielle Steel and Stephen King, Ginger has always been drawn more to story than to genre. This shows up in her various stories. Titles such as MY IMMORTAL and TASTE OF BLOOD are a delicious, heady mix of horror, suspense, and romance.

Genre romance, however, has held a special place in her heart, ever since she read her first Harlequin novel when she was only eleven. As a result, Ginger is making a name for herself writing romances of her own, starring women who look more like the average American woman rather than those traditionally represented in the size-biased American media. Her Rubenesque romances were created especially for those heroines with fuller figures, who can still get the man of their dreams if only they believe they can. Such titles include UNDER TEXAS SKIES, LOVE PLUS ONE, GROUPIE and PICTURE POSTCARDS.

Ginger was included in the best-selling book by Smith Magazine NOT QUITE WHAT I WAS PLANNING, featuring her six-word memoir.

1. guilty pleasure?
According to comedian Hal Sparks, there's no such thing as a guilty pleasure. If something brings you pleasure, there's no need to feel guilty about it. (Provided, of course, it isn't a crime.) That being said... disco music.

2. 1 book you could read over and over?
It's more an author than a book, per se. The big three come from Danielle Steel. "Palomino" is my favorite of her novels, and the most "traditional" romance in that it was focused on one central relationship. "Full Circle" is about one of her stronger heroines, who lived through pivotal historical points in the 20th century. Her main relationship was with her best friend, and I can appreciate that having a long-term relationship with my bestie (who, ironically, turned me onto Danielle Steel in the first place.) The third is "Family Circle," which had the rich social relevance and nod to history that I love so much about Danielle's books, with a strong thread of family.

3. fictional character you would love to spend the day with?
Captain Jack Sparrow. ;)

4. one thing you cannot leave the house without?
Keys to get back in when I get back.

5. fav song/singer?
"Faithfully" by Journey with Steve Perry.

6. hobby?
Aside from books, I'd have to say I'm a big movie buff. I love storytelling in all mediums.

7. fave movie/actor and or/actress?
Meryl Streep is a goddess and I'm torn between Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp for best actor. I have so many favorite movies it's hard to pick one. Top Five: "Tootsie," "The Godfather," "American Beauty," "Up," "The Breakfast Club."

8. one place you would love to visit?
Last year when I got caught up researching my family tree I traced roots all the way back to Scotland/Ireland. I hope to make that happen in the next few years.

9. fav food?
Almost all variations of Asian cuisines, with a newfound passion for sushi.

10. fav color?
Purple
