What is my favorite memory of Christmas? Hmm, that would
probably be.....AHHH! I have so many, I don't know where to even start!!
There is the time I made a craft in school that I still
have (from 1989). I don't know why this one craft has stayed with me through
the years, but I always think back fondly on it.
Probably why one of my favorite memories is watching Rudolph on tv each time it came on. No matter if I had seen it 10 times already. I just love reindeer and Rudolph and Santa!
There is the time I got this Cat In The Hat stuff toy...
again, that I still have. I remember walking into the living room and there is
was...sitting on a chalkboard table ready and waiting. I think that was my
favorite gifts that year.
And now my youngest daughter has it. All 3 girls have
played with it over the years. That brings a smile to my heart!
Isn't he still in such great condition?
There is the time I slept on the couch in the next room
over from the tree trying to stay up and sneak a peek of Santa. Every kids
dream, am I right? Yeah, it never happened for me either. That Santa is just
too darn sneaky with his "He knows when you are sleeping, he knows when
you're awake."
But I think setting up the tree, decorating it, then
laying under it looking at the lights will always be my favorite. Such a
magical time as a kid. Of course we had those fire hazard C9 lights on our tree back then...and I would put tinsel up to them to burn. Good times, good times.
I guess that is why I love setting our tree up so early now, minus those lights. And it seems I have passed that on to my daughters. The sooner the better in their eyes.
So now, Christmas is all about making memories with them
and hoping that they will carry it on as they grow older and have families of
their own. Of course much, much later. Heck they are only 14, 12 and 7.
Would love to invite you all to the fun facebook event!!
I also wanted to add my review of ON CHRISTMAS HILL by
Nichole Chase. I absolutely loved this short story and hope you will give it a
go if you haven't already!
Are you in need of some Christmas spirit? Does the
holiday shopping and errands have you feeling a bit like Scrooge? Well then sit
down, prop those tired legs up, and grab a mug of hot apple cider....cause
Chase has just the book for you. Be prepared to revel in some Christmas romance
in this adorable short story that is sure to warm your heart.
For me, short stories have to be really well written for
me to like. And up until this book, I only liked a select few of them. But now
I can add this book to the list of short stories that are a must
read…especially now that it is Christmas. I promise that once you are done
reading this book you are going to be smiling ear to ear and singing Jingle
Bells. Well maybe not Jingle Bells, you can add whatever favorite Christmas
song you want there. Just know you are going to fall in love with these
characters and this story. And I can almost bet you will be wanting, nay…you
will be demanding more of this story from Chase. Maybe if we all band together
she will give in. Who’s with me??
Who would like to win an ebook of ON CHRISTMAS HILL to enjoy this holiday season?
I have a lot of great memories. Some of the happiest are waking up first thing & realising that it is Christmas Day.
