By day, Margaret Ethridge/Maggie Wells is buried in spreadsheets. At night she pens tales of people tangling up the sheets. The product of a charming rogue and a shameless flirt, you only have to scratch the surface of this mild-mannered married lady to find a naughty streak a mile wide.

*What would you be doing right now if you were not an author? Well, I still work a day job, so I am doing it. I’m presently employed as an inventory control manager for a wholesale home décor company. If I could have any job in the world? I want to be the person who names OPI nail polish colors.

*5 years ago: what were you doing? I was an inventory control manager for a wholesale liquor distributor. In other words, I bought booze by the truckload.

*Do you have a certain writing ritual? I write in the evenings after work, dinner, housework. I have configured my computer to open Scrivener upon start up, so I have no excuse not to dive in. I also set minimum word counts to meet each day.

*What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? I can’t think of a specific instance other than the occasional unfavorable review. I try not to let other people’s opinions sway me much. Mileage varies.

*Ever fangirled over another author? Who was it? Oh, so many. I’ve been lucky enough to meet most of my favorites: Nora Roberts, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Kristan Higgins, Lisa Kleypas…Just this weekend I read the new Julie Anne Long release, HOT IN HELLCAT CANYON. I was a huge fan of her Pennyroyal Green historical romances, and I was just as enthralled by her foray into contemporary romance.

*Is there an author you'd like to meet? I’m a huge Sarah Addison Allen fan. I have all her books in multiple formats, and am listening to the audiobook of GARDEN SPELLS now. She inspires me as a writer.

*Biggest writing pet peeve? I don’t know that I have any in particular.

*Do you read other's reviews of your books? I do, but I try not to dwell on them. I appreciate thoughtful reviews (good or bad) because I am always trying to improve. I ignore those who just want to snark.

Fav Color: Red. I’m unnaturally attracted to all things red.

Fictional Character you'd like to spend the day with: Evanelle Waverly Franklin from GARDEN SPELLS. I think I’d like to follow her around as she gives people the things they don’t know they need.

Fav food: Toast

Fav song and/or singer: Wow. How to choose? I am a lifelong Duran Duran fan, so I’ll stick with them.

Guilty pleasure: Too many to list, buy hot baths are what I indulge in the most. I do my best daydreaming (aka plotting) in the tub.

Nothing draws a magnate like a steel magnolia…

Harley Cade is back in town—and the former bad boy is downright irresistible now that he's donned a hard hat and set to work restoring the South's finest homes to their former grandeur. While wealth may have gained Harley entry into high society, it's going to take a lot more than a fat bank account to win the lovely Laney Tarrington.

Laney isn't open to giving the self-made magnate a second chance—no matter how much she needs him. With her family fortune gone, Laney finally has to stand on her own two feet. The last person she'd ever lean on is Harley, the man who left her behind with nothing more than memories of the passion they once shared….

With the attraction still burning hot between them, Harley isn't above seduction—or secretly buying Laney's bankrupted family's estate. After all, he no longer has to prove himself to anyone, least of all the daughter of Mobile, Alabama's most prestigious family. But will pride keep Harley from gaining the biggest prize of all—a place in Laney's heart?
