Goodreads…

Seventeen year old Cassandra Wild thought living in the chaos of her mother’s home daycare and dealing with her developing feelings for Bryce, her new Martial Arts’ instructor, was a struggle, until the night her world turned upside down.

When an untested vaccine kills more than just a rampant flu virus, Cassie learns how to survive in a world where the dead walk, and the living…run!

My take…

This was a quick, intense, fun read...but there were moments it was a little too “fun”. One of the characters was nearly killed by her husband, and she made jokes about it constantly and barely batted an eye that he was now dead in their garage. The dead is coming back to life? Ah, just make a witty one liner as you bash the brains out of your newly dead neighbor. It was just hard to feel anything for some of the characters.

Aside from the immaturity of some of the characters, the story was actually intense and addictive. I loved how it all started and how the virus spread. It really makes you think twice about flu shots for sure. But I am still on the fence if I want to continue on with the series. I guess we will just have to see.

4 Stars.
