GLIMMERS Blog Tour {Top 10 with Barbara Brooke}

Currently, Barbara Brooke resides in sunny Florida with her supportive husband, two adorable children, gorgeous greyhounds, and scruffy mutt. She is actively creating new worlds and interesting characters for the next book in one of her series. Shhhh, can you keep a secret? Not only does she write spellbinding, heart-pounding women’s fiction, she also writes books for the young-at-heart, adventurous sort who yearn to dive into a good young adult fantasy story. These particular books are written under the name H.B. Bolton, but that is another story altogether.

1.    fav song/singer?
Since there are many incredible songs and musicians past/present, it’s safe to say The Beatles will always hold a huge place in my heart. I’m not sure which song of theirs is my favorite ~ it might be Across the Universe. Oh, and Paul is the cutest Beatle J

2. fav season?
My mood lifts when fall arrives: The air is brisk, pumpkin patches come to life, and festivals bring people together in good cheer. In Florida, the leaves do not change color and the weather isn’t yet cool enough for sweaters, but I still adore this time of year.

3. worst vacation?
Worst moment on a vacation was when my sister and I were traveling to Italy. About an hour into our flight, one of the engines started to smoke. Soon after, our plane returned to the Miami airport with many rescue vehicles in tow. We stayed the night in Miami and by the next day were brave enough to take another flight overseas.

4. guilty pleasure?
Let’s just say that I could “repin” on Pinterest all day long. I probably drive my followers/friends crazy with how often I’m on there. I’m a visual person and enjoy creating character boards and posting other visually inspiring images just for fun ~ you should see my “Happily ever after …” and “I do believe …” boards. Oh, and if I’m sipping on a yummy glass of wine while “pinning,” that’s even better.

5. fav book and/or author?
I’m stumped. There are so many amazing books out there, and I’m fascinated by so many of them. I suppose it really depends on my mood, time of day and alignment of the stars which one I’m really into at any particular moment.

6. one item you cannot live without?
I would go completely crazy without my lipstick ~ not for superficial reasons, but because I’m obsessed with applying it to my lips. Thank goodness for Burt’s Bees lip shimmer.

7. hobby?
I have a love for the arts: drawing, painting, sculpting, and developing fictitious worlds, people and places through my writing.

8. fav movie/actor/actress?
Sabrina, My Fair Lady, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday and Funny Face ~ Audrey Hepburn had class and she was so adorable too.
Quotes by the beautiful Audrey Hepburn:
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!”
“If I’m honest, I have to tell you I still read fairy tales, and I like them best of all.”
“I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles.”

9. fav food?
Lobster drenched with juice from a fresh-squeezed lemon and sweet, white claw meat dripping in melted butter.

10. who would you like to meet? (dead or alive?)
I would love to meet the man who brought Mickey Mouse to life and developed one of the most magical places on Earth: Walt Disney ~ one of the most innovative and imaginative men in the history of mankind.
A few quotes by Mr. Disney:
“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”
“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.”
“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things because we’re curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
“When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.”

A simple touch and suddenly, Paige is in the past - living someone else's life, seeing the world through their eyes, and feeling their deepest emotions.

Paige used to think memories only existed in one's mind. But now, she knows better. She can't explain how or why, but she has glimmers: special moments that have remained behind - clinging to a letter, a ring, even a worn-out pair of boots.

When Paige returns from each glimmer, a small part of her has changed. Who is this gourmet cook, fashion designer, feisty lover? And how is she supposed to explain this to her family without them thinking she has completely lost her mind?

Paige thought her new talent was a gift, until…she was suddenly transported into her sister’s memory, and caught a glimmer of her secret life.

Take this humorous and romantic journey, as Paige learns about true love through the lives of three extraordinary women.
