goodreads...
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

My take...
I’ve spent my whole life following along with whatever Dad wanted me to do. And when he wasn’t busy constricting my life, I was doing it for him.
And now…I think it might be time to loosen the reins and let myself breathe.

I went in knowing only two things about this book. One...it was about football. And two...Carmack wrote it. That is all I needed to know to read and review this book. And I didn't let the fact that I could care less about football deter me away from reading it. Like I said, Carmack wrote it...I am reading it…and I knew I was going to love it.

So even though I am not a fan of football, I can appreciate the big guys in little pants who play the sport. Am I right? Can I get a HOLLA? Anyhow, not being a fan, it isn't like I had to study up on the sport to enjoy the book. That is the beauty of it. There is more 'story' than football plays. I went in and devoured it and hut, hut TOUCHDOWN! (That is football terminology for the late person). The storyline was fabulous and had me from the start. The characters are some of the most genuine I have ever encountered. And in the end I was left excited to have been able to read the book. So yes, this book was an absolute winner!

I adored, adored, adored me some Carson. He is nothing like the rest of the guys. He actually has to work for what he wants and for his spot on the team. So crazy antics and late night partying is not his scene. Of course, if he wasn't trying to get to know his teammates at a first of the school year party, he'd had never met Dallas. His world would have never been shaken to its core. He would have gone on to live in ignorant bliss.

But that is not what happened. He met her and instantly there is a connection. Suddenly there is more than school and football on his mind. There is this beautiful redhead he can't stop thinking about. And the same goes for Dallas. Try as she may, she cannot stop doing the same when it comes to Carson. Both are so far gone and this "thing" they started has barely left the ground. Swoon!

**
But if there’s anything I’ve learned from creating this dance, it’s that sometimes mistakes bloom into the most colorful moments. They’re unexpected and different, and that’s where the character of the dance lives.
**

So, I have probably hindered more than helped with my review. A garbled mess of ramblings. Just know I loved it, I can't wait for more from this series, and Carmack is a brilliant author. Tackle. Score. The End. 5 I-Am-Crazy-For-Carmack-Stars!
