Title: Asher
Series: Ashes & Embers #6
Author: Carian Cole
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 3, 2020
I should have died.
I should have been
forgotten.
But I didn’t, and I
wasn’t.
Living the life most women only dream about, I was madly in
love with my soulmate—Asher Valentine—amazing husband, loving father, and
rock’s favorite kick-ass front man. A man who loved me every day, in every way,
since we first met as teens. We were blessed with a beautiful
daughter who was the light of our life. My all-female rock band was tearing up
the charts.
Then tragedy struck, and I lost it all.
Now all I have is a stack of journals, an antique key, and a
big black void where my memories should be.
Used to be.
And I have him—this man with wild hair, tattoos from head to
toe, a soft voice, and an even softer touch that gives me butterflies. He’s
clearly hopelessly in love with his wife.
I’m told that’s me.
But that wife is gone, and she took everything they once
had, leaving me in her place.
A broken replacement. A new version that doesn’t quite fit.
I’m slowly falling in love with him, but will he ever truly
love me? Or will he forever be in love
with her, the phantom woman who
haunts us both?

“You’re the only girl I’m ever gonna love.” “How long does ever last?” “Eternity.”“That’s not gonna be long enough…” I was fifteen years old the first time I told Ember I loved her and would only, ever, love her.
Asher’s story broke my heart and had me all up in my feels. Yeah, we experienced bits of him in TORN and a few other of the books (that I have read so far). But we haven’t really known him until now. We got to see him fully as he navigated into this new world with a woman that is his wife, but not.
Ember broke my heart as well. She woke up with no memory of who she is or who she was. Roles were casted upon her that she never knew existed: mom, wife, friend. But I loved the patience in Asher and the sheer will Ember put forth in trying to gain some remembrance of her past with him.
Their story was everything. It was romance but it was so much more. It was a journey into finding out who the two of them were post coma. When Ember woke up, neither were the same people when she fell asleep 8 years before. It was time they discovered who they were now. 5 Glorious Stars!
