short blurb for By the Firelight...
A story by Nate from Clockwise. When Nate McKenzie asks an unpopular girl to dance on a dare, he's in for the time of his life.
My mini review...
"Had I impressed her in the same way she'd blown my socks off?" Loved that sentence in the story.
I first fell in love with Nate in Clockwise back in November. But getting Nate's POV in By the Firelight (short story from anthology In His Eyes) was so much fun. He had a few snarky comments, that he kept to himself of course, in fear of getting his head knocked off by Casey. We get to see what he was feeling and thinking about his first time travel trip back to 1860, unlike in Clockwise. Nate is not sure if Casey is crazy, the guys are punkin’ him, or if what’s happening is really real. Poor guy! Little does he know this is only the beginning. Even though this was a short story, Strauss did a fabulous job! I was sad that it ended so quickly.
I have a question is by the firelight shorter or longer than clocked?
