That is until a new boy shows up at school after a rumored stretch in Juvie. Connor can see Evan and he’s not convinced the ghost is being completely honest. From his own experience ghosts tend to need something from the humans they connect to and Evan, despite his arguments isn’t any different.

Jane is resentful of Connor’s intrusion but realizes soon enough he’s right. Evan has secrets about his past and not only did his life end tragically but members of his family are still in danger. Jane must face her fears and battle Evan’s human demons to free both of them.

My take...

Jane can see ghosts, well one ghost, Evan. And thanks to an outburst at Evan at school, people at her new school think she is a freak. So she keeps to herself and tries to stay off everyone’s radar. But the new boy isn’t going to make it so easy for her…cause he knows her secret. Connor has a few secrets of his own and one is that he can see Evan too.

Finally, FINALLY there is a fictional girl with some sense! Oh gosh, we have seen it all before where a girl notices this obviously cute guy but there is something dark and sinister about him. Yet she continues on her quest to make him hers. Well Jane actually has the sense to not go after said bad guy. Yes she likes him, but she is keeping her distance. That is, she was keeping her distance until her Ghost BFF wants her to talk to him.

I was so caught up in Wraith and its interesting plot. I was taken by the whole idea of a girl having a ghost as a best friend. I hated what she went through when she first started seeing Evan, but it made for a very interesting read. And the way the author revealed Jane, Connor, and Evan’s history was perfect. I love when not everything is laid out in the beginning of a story. I like seeing things revealed throughout so you are surprised.

Oh the ending…I was a complete mess. I could tell from the vibe the story was taking that I was going to be sheading some tears. Wraith had me hurting for some characters but very pleased with the way it ended. It was an ending that completed the book or could easily lead into another book. I will be interested in seeing if the author does plan on making this a series.
