Author: Karice Bolton

goodreads...

Rebekah vows to expose the truth behind the RecruitZ that are killing the innocents. These creatures must be stopped, but so should the people controlling them. When Rebekah uncovers who is behind the uprisings, her own life becomes in danger.

My take...

I stood in my bedroom and glanced at myself in the reflection of the long mirror. On first glance, I appeared smaller, but I was stronger. My body had changed, muscles more defined, fewer curves to confuse my clothes. But all I cared about was the strength, and I could see it, especially in my eyes.
***

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book from the moment I finished the first one. Unfortunately life plays a large role on when we get to them, right? And I had to wait a bit of time after it came out to start it. But never the less, I started it and I inhaled it. AlibiZ was such a page turner I found it extremely hard to put down.

I mentioned in my review of RecruitZ that I was sad that there wasn't a whole lot of romance within that book. So what I loved about this book was that the romance steadily grew in this one. Rebekah has to learn to let go of the fear of losing those she is close to before she allows herself to live and love again. Can she do it? Will she allow herself the chance to be happy again? Oh the suspense!

Another feature of the book that got me was the intense energy running throughout the story. I was at my wits end and found it all so real and believable. Especially when Little Rock was mentioned. YIKES! That had me since I live right outside that city. And I had to tell myself that this was just a story and zombies were not outside my door. (Ha!) Don't you love it when a book gets you feeling it all? But just like the first, this book had me on the edge of my seat and ready for action. Once again, I was blown away by the frenziness coursing through the book.

It was great being back in the Afterworld and with some pretty amazing characters once again. The plot, the characters, and the feels were perfection! Bolton did an incredible job on the sequel and I cannot wait for the next! 5 Incredible, Zombie Edible Stars!

  1. I am glad you were able to love this book even more than the first because of the romance that featured in it. Both books are on my TBR, I love the covers and can't wait to start reading them myself!
