Interview: Morgan Wylie, Author of The Age of Alandria Series #UtopYA

*What would you be doing right now if you were not an author? Well, before I became an author I was a real estate agent with my husband working in our own real estate/property management company and doing property flips. When we moved across the country, I worked at Hobby Lobby as their florist for a year, but I would probably go back to real estate if I wasn’t an author. (sorry that was the long answer ;)

*5 years ago: what were you doing? let’s see my daughter was almost 1 and we had just moved back from TN to WA (home state) for a season to deal with some business issues. We had the blessing of living at a lake cabin for the summer and I wrote a lot. :)

*Do you have a certain writing ritual? Hmmm… It use to be working at a coffee shop, but now that I have my home office I’ve been working at home a LOT more. Is this where I say that I do something strange to get in touch with my muse? Lol. I really don’t. I need music to write so there’s that and I usually need some Twizzler’s Pull ’n Peel or hot tamales!

*What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author?  I received an especially harsh review that had truth to it, but they were not the kindest in how they delivered it.

*Is there an author you'd like to meet? JK Rowling for sure!

*Biggest writing pet peeve? Umm, I’m not sure that I have one, or I can’t think of one off the top of my head.

* Do you read other's reviews of your books? I do actually, well most of them—I’m sure I’ve missed some but probably most of them. I feel like it’s something I am able to do at this point and I like to hear what readers have to say. They took the time to read my book and I appreciate it. I feel like there is always something to learn from them and I can always grow as a writer.

Fav Color: Purple. No, pink. No, turquoise. Lol, this is a question my daughter asks me. I tell her I have different favorite colors for different days. So she now asks me “What’s the color for the day?” I just love color.

Fictional Character you'd like to spend the day with? Ooo tough one. I’m going to go with one of my secondary characters: Halister. He is a Ferrishyn: one of the warrior faeries. He’s fun, light-hearted and playful, but also a strong warrior, loyal, and protective.

Fav food: Pizza ;)

Guilty pleasure: Sci-Fi channel series, Harry Potter movies, 80’s movies! any kind of gummy candy, paranormal romance books.

Fav song and/or singer: My husband laughs at me (he’s a musician) because most of the time I don’t know who the singers are that I’m singing along to, lol. I love a lot of music, but I’m a sucker for 80’s rock ballads and girl power bands. Journey, Stevie Nicks, Heart, Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Roxette, Starship, and of course Wilson Philips ;) This was a fun stroll down memory lane and I want to share the journey with you!! Enjoy...
