FOR EVERLY Blog Tour {Guest Post, Giveaway}

Favorite quotes from For Everly (Part 2)
Quote 5: One of my favorite scenes takes place in Cole’s pool during an adult version of Marco Polo. If Cole catches Everly, she owes him a kiss. That doesn’t mean she has to give in easily, though.
“Was that a squeal, Ms. Wallace?” he asked, reeling her in until they were once again next to each other. He turned her so the water remained only as high as her chest.

“I don’t squeal,” she huffed. She wanted to laugh, but was afraid it would reflect her nervousness. “I might have issued a feminine sound of protest.”

Quote 6: My next favorite quote exchange is in the form of a series of flirtatious texts exchanged by Everly and Cole. Everly hasn’t had much experience with guys, and this is the point where she starts to come out of her shell.

She texted him as she walked out to her car. Headed home. Think your kiss got me a job.

Got u a job as what??

Use your imagination.

Been doing that all day.

Quote 7: This was one of my favorite awkward/LOL moments in the book. It takes place after a photo shoot that went in a different direction than I’d initially envisioned.

A loud knock on the door made Cole jerk just as Everly leaned down with the thought of kissing him again. He cracked her right in the nose.

“Ow!” She brought a hand up to her face and blinked back tears of pain.

“No sex in the dressing rooms,” a female voice ordered.

“Oh, God—I’m so sorry!” Cole said to Everly. He tried to see what kind of damage he’d done.

“It happens all the time,” the person on the other side of the door replied. “You can keep the underwear, by the way.”

Quote 8: This is probably my favorite quote of Cole’s. It shows two sides of his character: tenderness and fierce protectiveness.

“Everly Wallace,” he said. “You’re the strongest person I’ve ever met. I understand why you don’t talk about your past with just anyone, and I can’t tell you how much it means that you shared it with me. I’m awed by the courage you’ve shown in overcoming such tragedy. I’m saddened by all that you’ve lost. And I’m proud of all that you’ve accomplished.

“But you should know that if I ever see your father again, I’m going to rip out his goddamn throat.”

Book Description:

Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.

Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn’t fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.

In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.

When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.
