goodreads...
Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.
In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.
Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

My take...
I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along. A pigeon. The kind of soul that didn’t impede on anyone; just walked around worrying about its own business, trying to get through life without pulling everyone else down with its own needs and selfish habits. Brave. A communicator. Intelligent. Beautiful. Soft-spoken. A creature that mates for life. Unattainable until she has a reason to trust you.

WALKING DISASTER is Travis' story. You'd have to be living under a rock to not have heard about it. Was it worth the wait? Oh yeah. But I wasn't absolutely gaga over it. It was a really good read, but I was hoping for a little more. Just something a little different. And am I the only one who thought it felt a little choppy?

What I loved was that the whole book was Travis. Beautiful, sexy Travis. I loved him from the beginning in book one...I still love him now. Getting his side didn't change anything for me. In fact, when I finished book one and had to hear lots of people berate him and talk about how dysfunctional he was...I wanted to scream "WHAT ABOUT ABBY?" To me, she had too much of that 'hot and cold', 'I am too good for you' attitude. And it irked me that Travis got the raw end of the deal. And reading WALKING DISASTER only reaffirmed how I felt about Abby. Another thing was I reminded how much of a drama queen America is. Lord help me. She is a great friend  to Abby but she sometimes snaps and goes a little heavy with the dramatics.

I absolutely adored the epilogue. So very, very much. It was icing on the cake and I am thinking that McGuire needs to take that and run with it. It would make a fabulous story. Who knows? Maybe that is in the works and I haven't heard about it yet. All in all a good read and it brought forth a lot of smiles remembering why I fell in love with Travis and BEAUTIFUL DISASTER in the first place. I totally recommend it if you loved book one and need more of the story and the characters.

FAV LINES…
Maybe it was just me. Maybe it was just me and her. Maybe together we were this volatile entity that would either implode or meld together. Either way, it seemed the moment I met her, my life had been turned upside down. And I didn’t want it any other way. (Travis)

“I don’t understand you, either. You’re supposed to be Eastern’s ladies’ man. I’m not getting the full freshman experience they promised in the brochure.” (Abby)

I mentioned this video in my review for BEAUTIFUL DISASTER but this song is perfect for Travis when he loses Abby.

  1. See I actually liked Abby in BD but in WD she really got on my dang nerves! I wanted to punch her so bad while reading this book I could actually taste victory on my tongue! lol! Great review and I love your blog, it's beautiful! :)
