Top Five Things I Cannot Leave the House Without

Hi everyone! It’s Melissa from the Jessie Lane duo, and today I’ve stopped by I Read Indie to talk about the Top 5 Things I Cannot Leave The House Without. I’m the type of person that has to check and recheck that I have everything I need when I leave the house. And god bless my hubby, I swear that man has the patience of a saint when it comes to me and my OCD tendencies. Which when it comes to us trying to leave the house on time really means he gave up and went to wait out eternity in the car while I search the entire house for something unimportant. I normally have a list of things I go over in my head that I just have to have with me at all times.

1)      My brown leather hobo bag that I shove everything into. The bigger the bag the better. And it has to have lots of little hidey pockets for me to lose stuff in. Makes looking for it that much more fun or frustrating.

2)      My cell phone is my lifeline, so it’s attached to me at all times. I actually don’t use it for talking that much, I mostly use the Kindle app on it so that I can read wherever I’m at. I also use it to store my random ideas that pop into my head when I don’t have a pen and paper to jot them down. Plus I have to play My Singing Monsters, like daily. *It’s kind of a big deal in my house.*

3)      Hidden amongst those hidey pockets I love so much are my numerous hair ties. I have to carry at least twenty or thirty with me at all times. I am always leaving them somewhere, they break due to the weight and length of my hair, or they succumbed to the horrible fate of being shot out of the car window by my husband. He’s always threatening to use my hair ties as a slingshot.

4)      To go along with all those hair ties is the paddle hair brush I broke the handle off of. My hair is unruly and down to my waist, so I need all the help I can get trying to tame my ‘Simba mane’ as Crystal likes to call it.

5)      And finally my laptop. I have an awesome job that allows me to take my handy dandy laptop with me so that I can write until the sun comes up. It’s my saving grace on the graveyard shift.

Those are my top five items that I can’t leave the house without, but if you check my purse, it’s loaded down with so much more. And don’t worry about the jingling you hear when my bag bounces on my leg when I walk by you. It’s just my mondo-sized container of orange flavored Tic Tacs. Now tell me, what are the things you need before you leave the house?

Before I go I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to Mandy for letting me stop by and chat today. I hope you all will check out Jessie Lane’s newest release, The Frozen Star, from our YA/NA Paranormal Romance & Fantasy series! Happy Reading!

The Frozen Star

Book #2 in the Star series

by Jessie Lane

Release Day: May 29, 2014

The journey continues:
Kay had discovered secrets, lies, shocking truths, and even love in a strange new world hidden from humans. Everything she thought she knew was turned upside down when she found out three things:

- She wasn’t human.
- She has a power she can't control.
- And there was a possibility that she had found a way to cure the cancer that was rapidly killing her with that very same power.

Then, just when she was on the precipice of gaining everything she wanted and saving her own life, tragedy struck. Will she be able to fight her way back to Ryan and save herself in the process?

Kira had lived a terrifying and confusing life of servitude and abuse under Lord Donovan and his son, Cole. It was an existence that had stripped away her emotions, and eventually, her reason to keep fighting. Just when she thought freedom was within reach, Lord Donovan struck again, ruining her plans and almost killing her in the process. When she awoke from her injuries, it was to stunning revelations that would change her life forever. Changes that she was not entirely sure she wanted to embrace.

Persistent individuals such as Prince Kane refuse to let her walk away, though. Will she embrace all of the sudden fortune in her life? Or will she walk away from those who need her most, forsaking their acceptance and love?

(will be made available when the book is published)
